Montgomery County

Montgomery County real estate is located in southeast Kansas with access from U.S, highways 75 and 169 and state highway 160. Montgomery County is bordered by Chitoqawa County to the west and Labette County on the East.

The two main towns in Montgomery County are Independence, which is the county seat, and Coffeyville. Montgomery County real estate is less than 2.5 hours south of the Kansas City metro plex , 1.5 hour north of the Tulsa , 1 hour from Joplin, Missouri, and and less than 2 hours to the Wichita metroplex.

This county has 2 junior colleges as well as several industries that have manufacturing plants located in Montgomery County. Some of the manufacturing plants are Cessna Airplanes, Funk Manufacturing owned by John Deere, Mackey Manufacturing that manufactures truck beds for bottled beverages. American Wire, Spears P.V.C. Pipe Manufacturing, and Acme Foundry,

Montgomery County also has warehouses for Amazon.com, S.E.K. Grain Inc., Jenson's, who manufactures oilfield equipment and truck beds. This county also has large gasoline and fuel refining plants because of oil production in southeast Kansas and Northeast Oklahoma.

This county is strongly influenced by agriculture production of beef cattle, dairy, and row cropping of soybeans, milo, corn and wheat.

Montgomery County is filled with history from the Dalton Gangs museum, Brown Mansion and location of Little House on the Prairie novel. Coffeyville is host each August to the Coffeyville Interstate Fair and PRCA Rodeo.
